The validity period for Experience Profiles submitted as part of a
certification package is currently specified using the following wording.
?Each Experience Profile must describe a project undertaken within the
eight (8) years preceding an application, at least one of which must
have been undertaken in the last three (3) years.?
There is a possibility of ambiguity at each end of the specified period of
eight years and hence an ambiguity about the acceptability of any
specific Experience Profile. As the experience described in each profile
may cover several years, we have generally agreed that the critical
timing for the start of the period is the conclusion of the profile
engagement. However, that is not stated clearly anywhere in the
Conformance Requirements. In addition, there is ambiguity about the
word "application" that identifies the end of the period. Is that when a
candidate first registers, or first submits their package, or has their
package accepted by the CA, or when they attend their review board.
To remove these ambiguities, the following wording is proposed as a
replacement for the current wording.
?Each Experience Profile must describe a project completed not more
than eight (8) years preceding the acceptance of the package by the
Certification Authority. At least one of the Experience Profiles must
describe a project completed not more than three (3) years preceding
the acceptance of the package by the Certification Authority.?
NOTE - For consistency, similar wording will need to be used in section
1 of the Professional Communication templates at both Level 1 and 2
and at the beginning of section 2 of the Experience template at Levels
1, 2 and 3.

When applying for an O-Badge for an experience profile, the Profile must
describe a project completed not more than eight (8) years preceding the
acceptance of the O-B badge package by the Certification Authority.
When the CA assembles a full package for Certification, at least one of the
included Experience Profiles must describe a project completed not more
than three (3) years preceding the submission of the package for Board
Review by the Certification Authority. |
