Location in Spec Section 6.1 (table) and Section 8.2
Problem Summary Recertification interviews too onerous
Problem Text Recertification at all levels currently requires three telephone interviews, yet the intent is
only to establish that the certified Architect is continuing to practice, and has kept up with
the Professional development and community Contribution requirements.

The effort is disproportionate to the information sought, and should be reduced

The following revision to the process is proposed:

? One Board member will review the Re-Certification Package.

? Normally the Board member will not interview Certified IT Architect, but may do so
    to resolve questions of clarification.

? If the Board member considers that the Re-Certification Package demonstrates that
the Certified Architect meets the ITAC re-certification requirements, then the outcome is
    to accept the re-certification.

? If the Board member recommends that the re-certification be declined, a second
Board member will review the Re-Certification Package. If the second Board member
also recommends that the re-certification be declined, then the re-certification outcome is
to decline. If the second Board member recommends accepting the re-certification, then
a third Board member will be asked to review the Re-Certification Package and decide
the outcome. The second and third Board members may interview the Certified Architect
    by telephone or video.

Review Conclusion Recertification at all levels currently requires three telephone interviews, yet the intent is

    to resolve questions of clarification.

? If the Board member considers that the Re-Certification Package demonstrates that
the Certified Architect meets the ITAC re-certification requirements, then the outcome is
to accept the re-certification and re-certification is complete.

In all other cases, a second Board member will review the Re-Certification Package
and will interview the Certified It Architect. If the first and second Board members agree to
either accept or reject the re-certification request, then that is the outcome. If the first and
second Board members disagree, then a third Board member will be asked to review the
Re-Certification Package, interview the Certified It Architect, and decide the outcome.
Interviews may be conducted by telephone or video.
