    Product Standard TOGAF 8 Training
Certification Program TOGAF Certified by The Open Group
Problem Summary There is insufficient quality assurance on the provision of TOGAF Training.
    Problem Description
    [CSC template]
    1.Issue Description:

Currently, the TOGAF certification program places no requirements on
training organisations and/or trainers to ensure the quality of TOGAF
training. Any person who become TOGAF certified may immediately become a
    trainer authorized to certify others.

In other comparable programs, there is a need for trainers to have
specific training to become trainers and there are industry recognised
    quality marks for training organisations.

There are a number of possible approaches (e.g.)
    (1) Additional requirements for Training and Trainers could be added to
the existing Product Standards (together with a policy change which
makes TOGAF Professional Services a mandatory requirement for training
    organisations)
    (2) New product standards for Training Organisations and Trainers which
set out mandatory standards for trainer development and course organisation.

    2. Issue Impact:

Ultimately, this could impact the credibility of TOGAF training, which
is also one of the major marketing activities for TOGAF. A single
organization delivering poor quality training could have a significant
    impact on the TOGAF market.

    3. Issue Urgency:

    Medium term urgent / Important

    4. Issue Time Window:

The introduction of TOGAF 9 is an ideal time to address this issue.

    5. Willingness to participate in follow-up:

    Yes
