Problem Report Number 2559 Submitter's Classification Test Suite problem State Resolved Resolution Test Suite Deficiency (TSD) Problem Resolution ID TSD.X.1328 Raised 2011-03-08 03:34 Updated 2011-03-08 12:18 Published 2011-03-08 12:18 Product Standard Commands and Utilities V4 (UNIX 03) Certification Program The Open Brand certification program Test Suite VSC version 5.3.2 Test Identification POSIX.cmd/pax/pax.ex 1045 Specification Shell and Utilities Issue 6 Location in Spec http://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/functions/readdir.html Linked Problem Reports 2488, 2556, 2557, 2558 Problem Summary The test suite assumes that readdir() returns an ordered list thus
making the following command fail during testing.
POSIX.cmd/pax/pax.exProblem Text This test expects a specific ordering of the files written into
a pax archive when it's source is a directory, zfs is producing a
different order, causing this test failure.
The test suite assumes files to be in order after a readdir() is
conducted. There is nothing in the conformance stating this should
be done nor does it state the type of order the files should be
when returning from readdir(). File order cannot be assumed.
This is the same issue as seen in PR# 2488, 2556, 2557 and 2558 that was
reported.Test Output
