Problem Summary Certain escaped characters are not parsed correctly by the server. (This
request was tracked by the dif-members as LC-0002)
Problem Text Certain escaped characters are not parsed correctly by the server. There
are three separate (but related) tests, which show this problem:

    - Syntaxes 2.4.3.2. This test is already waiting for a rewrite, as the
test did not test the corresponding assertion (i.e. '\5c' character as
part of a larger production). Cannot tell at this moment, until new test
suite is available and the test can be run, but this test may still fail
due to the '\' character not being parsed correctly. At the moment, the
test fails and results in the search filter not being parsed correctly
(the attribute value itself is actually stored correctly).

    - Conversion 3.2.4.8. This test relates to the parsing of the '\'
character within an RDN. The '\' character is not parsed correctly, and
    results in a failure.

    - Parsing 3.3.0.14. This test relates to the parsing of the '\'
character within a DN. The test is virtually identical to the previous
one (Conversion 3.2.4.8), searching on a base object of
"cn=Mars\\\\Ares,ou=Syntaxes,ou=Search,o=IMC,c=US". It is the same bug
which causes both tests to fail.
