    The assertion made by this test is incorrect.

    In the event that the fontset cannot be created with the name
    given, the spec indicates (section 9.6.1) that there are fallbacks
    involving the XtDefaultFontSet resource and a last resort
    "implementation-defined font set".

    Only if all three of these fail will a warning be issued and
    false returned.

    The test does not account for the fallbacks.
