    Problem Report Number 1527
    Submitter's Classification Test Suite problem

    Problem Resolution ID TSD.X.0809
    Raised 1970-01-01 08:00
    Updated 2003-03-13 08:00
    Published 1995-05-24 08:00
    Product Standard Internationalised System Calls and Libraries Extended (UNIX 95)
    Certification Program The Open Brand certification program
    Test Suite VSU version 4.0.2
    Test Identification base/setregid 6
    Problem Summary TSD4U.00004 Test makes incorrected assumptions about saved gid semantics.
    Problem Text
    This test runs with the following definitions

    ugid = group id of user invoking test
    gid1 = VSU_NOT_INUSE_GID1
    gid2 = VSU_NOT_INUSE_GID2
    the sgid bit is set on sregid6_exc and the group id is set to ugid.

    But the test assumes that

    real gid = gid2
    effective gid = ugid
    saved gid = gid1

    when it is run.

    This is incorrect in that the saved gid is the saved of the effective
    gid *after* the file has been exec'd. In this case it would be

    real gid = gid2
    effective gid = ugid
    saved gid = ugid

    So the test fails.
    Test Output
    520|1 1 7632 1 3|A call to int setregid(gid_t rgid, gid_t
