    Problem Report Number 1244
    Submitter's Classification Test Suite problem

    Published null
Product Standard Internationalised System Calls and Libraries Extended (UNIX 95)
Certification Program The Open Brand certification program
    Test Suite VSU version 4.0.2
    Test Identification CAPIbase/getutxent 1
Problem Summary PG4U.00019 The test fails because the ordering of lines in the accounting database is not mandated by the spec.
    Problem Text
The test case assumes that entries are made in the user acounting database
in a specific order. XSH4.2 makes no statement concerning the indexing or
ordering method used for the user acounting database. The only statement
that is made is that new entries are made at the end of the database. However,
there is no definition of end since such a definition would also require
that the indexing and ordering method be documented. Again, since such
information is undefined no portable aplications (such as the test suite)
can not rely on knowing the indexing and ordering method in use on any
    given system.
    Test Output
    TEST CASE: getutxent

    TEST PURPOSE #1
A successful call to struct utmpx
*getutxent(void) shall read the next entry from the
user accounting database and return a pointer to a utmpx
structure containing a copy of the entry.
PREP: Compute the number of entries in the user accounting database
PREP: Update the user accounting database with entries for known values
PREP: Seek to the location in the utmp database where
    the new entries should be
TEST: getutxent() reads next entry from utmp database
