Problem Text
PG4C.00131, dated 20 Nov 2000 references The WG Resolution
Ref:bwg98-002, follows the recommendation at that time and rejects the
Interpretation Request.
On May 2001, bwg98-002 is revisited, saying 'the group feels that the
return value of 1 for sort -c is covered under exit status as a valid
status return (i.e. not an error), the > 1 case being for an error and
thus a diagnostic is not required.'
As a result we feel our behavior is acceptable and that a waiver be
granted for these two test failures.Test Output

Review Type TSMA Review Start Date null Completed null Status Complete Review Recommendation No Resolution Given Review Response
The behaviour of this system is allowed by the revised bwg98-002
resolution, and so a waiver should be granted.
Since bwg98-002 mentions the need for an interpretation request to
be filed (by which I assume it means a POSIX.2 interpretation),
a Temporary Interpretation is recommended.
Review Type SA Review Start Date null Completed null Status Complete Review Resolution Temporary Interpretation (TIN) Review Conclusion
A Temporary Interpretation is granted.
