    Problem Text
    The test may fail on all implementations because of an improperly
    specified lex expression.

    This test expects the output from lex to be

    pen
    xyz

    In order to get this output the regular expressions currently
    separated by the alternation operator need to be grouped with
    parenthesis. The lex expression should be changed from:

    %%
    ^xyz|pen ECHO;
    .

    to:

    %%
    ^(xyz|pen) ECHO;
    .
