    This test may fail on implementations whose shell exits with a
    non-zero status if a command can not be found.

    mailx tp418 uses a datafile with the contents:

    subject
    This should appear
    ~.
    This should not appear

    This is passed as input to mailx.

    The problem is that the ~. exits mailx. The line after that is
    passed to a shell which tries to execute it as another command.
    "This" is not a command and causes a not found error. This error
    causes our shell to exit with a non-zero exit status, which
    causes the test to fail improperly.
