    Problem Text
This test may fail on implementations where the aborting a tag
command because the current file has been modified is considered
an error and causes ex to exit immediately.

All of these test cases are failing one part of the test because
the test suite is ignoring the fact that 'ex' terminates when an
error is encountered in the input file, when the input file is a
regular file. A failure in a search is considered an error, and
should terminate the execution of the input script. The test
suite should not expect 'checkline' to succeed when ex has
terminated under such circumstances because any other commands in
the input script will not have been executed to mark the line
which is being searched for in 'checkline'.

Test case 296 expects that the exit status may not be zero, but
the exit status from the 'ex' command is not used to determine
whether to continue with the 'checkline' routine. It should be.

    Testcase #296:
    --------------
lines 842 and 843 of ex_06.sh contain the ex command and the
capture of the (non-zero) exit status.

    Test Output
    11:11:03|IC Start
    11:11:04|TP Start
    7120 1 1|Assertion #296 (C): tag: edit buffer modified, not sav
