Problem Text
These tests are failing for reasons not involving the interpretations
TIN4C.00006 and 7,
In the case of mkdir #31 we have:
Set umask to 26.
Make a directory using "mkdir -wx"
Compare the mode of the created directory with a regular expression
corresponding to a mode of 440. It incorrectly expects the umask value
to disallow read access for other to the new directory.
We create a file with a mode of 466, basing this choice on the following
from XCU4.2:
mkdir: "The mode option-argument [to mkdir -m] will be the same as the
mode operand for the chmod utility."
chmod: "[When the - operation is specified and] who is not specified, the
file mode bits represented by perm ...., except for those with
corresponding bits in the file mode creation mask of the invoking
process, shall be cleared."
Note that the mask is used contrarily to its usual sense here: It forces
the retention of privileges rather than denying them. We thus don't shut
off write permission for group or other. (The default mode is 777 in this
case and implementation.)
Similar comments apply to the mkfifo cases.Test Output
