    This test may fail on implementations where the edit command
    does not automatically write the file.

    The test strategy uses the "edit" command to verify that the
    autowrite of the file occurs. There is an IEEE POSIX interpretation
    request that permits implementations not to do this. This is
    attached below, and is classified by the IEEE as a defect.
