Problem Text
This test case fails because we redirect stdout and stderr on our tcc
invocation. We do this in order to capture the results directory name
and any other important output or error that may be produced. There is
nothing in the supporting documentation for VSC4.1.5 to indicate that
we cannot or should not do this. There is only this failure because
the test case developer has used file descriptor 1 to test this
assertion. The assertion itself says nothing about not redirecting
stdout or stderr. Although the -t option to test does specify that
the file descriptor must be associated with a terminal, it should be
possible to cause this using expect, rather than assuming that file
descriptor 1 is always associated with a terminal.Test Output

We recommend this request be refused.
We agree the documentation should more clearly state that VSC
branding runs should NEVER be done in background or using I/O
redirection. Tests other than the one mentioned here may also
fail improperly if this happens.
We agree that this test can be rewritten to eliminate this problem.
However we do not believe these are grounds for granting a TSD.
If the test is run in the proper environment it will work properly.
