    Raised 1970-01-01 08:00
    Updated 2003-03-13 08:00

Product Standard Commands and Utilities V2 (UNIX 95)
Certification Program The Open Brand certification program
    Test Suite VSC version 4.1.6
    Test Identification POSIX.cmd/find 15
Problem Summary PG4C.00102 This IR claims that the test may fail when run via a non-interactive shell.
    Problem Text
The script ga49 is invoked with the nonexisting utility 0.
This leads to the error "command not found" and the shell
    executing the script exits.
This behaviour is allowed by the Standard (See Chapter 2.8.1
Consequences of Shell Errors). There is stated in case of 'Command not
    found' the shell 'may exit'.
If the "erroneous" command would be executed in a subshell, the
script would continue and it would not lead to the final
    conclusion : NORESULT.

    Review Response
We recommend this request be refused.

While we agree this is an issue with find, the reason for the
error is not valid. VSC requires that the tests be run in the
foreground with an interactive shell. Tests cannot be run in the
    background or using I/O redirection.

Section 2.8.1 of the Commands and Utilities standard only applies
to non-interactive shells. An interactive shell will not exit in
    the situation described above.

This issue is the same as for PG4C.00067.
