Our implementation has chosen to use the concept of a privileged port
when allowing mount requests. Basically, that means that any MNTPROC_MNT
being received by the server must use a privileged port ( < 1024 ) or
access will be denied. These ports can only be obtained by the superuser
or a process owned by the superuser. Since the test suite is not being
run with superuser authority, these tests fail on our implementation with
MNT_EACCESS since they will not be able to obtain a privileged port.
We do however, have an option on the server mount daemon that will allow
it to accept MNTPROC_MNT commands from non-privileged ports but this must
be chosen when the mount daemon is started.Test Output

The XNFS specification is silent as to the privileges required on the
server side for the processing of a MNTPROC_MNT request. Other implementations
make no privilege requirements in these circumstances and this seems to be
an unnecessary restriction.
The commentary states that the mount daemon can be initiated in a manner
which allows it to accept MNTPROC_MNT commands from non-privileged ports.
Doing this would remove the problem.
This request should be forwarded to the appropriate interpretations group.
At the moment, I do not believe that the request warrants the grant of a
permanent interpretation.
