    Problem Text
The pow() in AIX 3.2.5 has implemented the XPG4 extensions which state:

If y is zero and x is NaN, either a value of 1.0 is returned, or Nan is
returned and errno may be set to EDOM.

AIX pow(NaN,0.0) returns a 1.0 and no error.

In the Test Description, it states in XPG4 mode pow(Nan,0.0) may return
    1.0 instead of NaN.
    Test Output

    Bit Representation: expected value: \177\370\000\000\000\000\000\000
    Bit Representation: observed value: \077\360\000\000\000\000\000\000

    Review Recommendation No Resolution Given
    Review Response
The test suite seems to have been executed in XPG3 mode, thus this cannot
be dealt with through the XPG4 interpretations process.

The basis for the request relies on a specific change in the text between
XPG3 an XPG4. The test suite, when executed in XPG3 mode, correctly tests
for XPG3 behavior and, when executed in XPG4 mode, for XPG4 behavior. It
seems that the system under test correctly exhibits XPG4 behavior but not
XPG3 behavior. The problem would have minor application impact and it may
be possibly to obtain a waiver in XPG3 mode for a minor fault in the system.

It is not recommended that this request be granted.
