The VSX supports the use of pseudo-terminals as the loopback for testing
the general terminal interface (see rel. notes VSX 4.2.4). There is told,
that typical pseudo-terminal implementations do not fully support the
general terminal interface, so failures can be expected in the
POSIX.os/devclass area.
The fact is, that nearly every POSIX.os/devclass test fails by using
pseudo-terminals.Test Output

The evidence given above does not provide sufficient information to allow
a decision to be made as to the appropriateness of this request. The
statement that "nearly every POSIX.os/devclass test fails by using
pseudo-terminals" suggests that there is a far more significant problem
than is stated in this request relating to a single test. If this is
truly the case, then this should be addressed through the normal support
channels. The pseudo-terminal tests have previously worked in a number of
different environments and no error reports are outstanding relating to a
generic fault in VSX 4.2.4. This request should be addressed to support and
no waiver should be granted until further information is available.
