    This test is listed as one of the grey areas in the draft release note.

    Here is the excerpt from the release note :

    write of zero bytes with O_APPEND

    The test for write() with third argument zero on a
    file opened with O_APPEND expects that the file
    position will not be changed. This is currently the
    subject of an outstanding POSIX.1 interpretation.
