Our system supports network connected synchronous and asynchronous
terminals. It does not support locally connected asynchronous terminals.
Synchronous terminals exist in their own time-warp and do not support
the General Terminal Interface (GTI) defined in XPG4. Network
connected asynchronous terminals do support the GTI for all practical
purposes, but they do not support hardware related features of RS232
connected devices, such as parity generation / detection and
character size (other than CS8).
We also provide pseudo-ttys, which again support the GTI for all
practical purposes, but do not support the hardware related features
listed above.
We therefore apply for a waiver as laid down in section 9.3.8 of the
VSX User and Installation Guide, on the basis that our hardware does
not support the above features.Test Output
