The open() is for the pseudo-terminal lookback slave is failing with
errno=EPERM because the default HUPCL setting for our tty's is ON.
POSIX.1, section 7.1.2.4, lines 412 through 414 say "If HUPCL is set,
the modem control lines for the port shall be lowered when the last
process with the port open closes the port or the process terminates.
The modem connection shall be broken." We believe it is appropriate
for open() to fail in this situation.
Line 426 of section 7.1.2.4 also states "The initial hardware control
value after {open()} is implementation defined." The VSX4 suite should
not expect that HUPCL is off for a tty before it is closed and
re-opened.Test Output
