Problem Summary ACPs may need a "grace period" to ensure certified architects are
available to participate in recertification boards
Problem Text Due to pressures on time and availability of resources, an ACP may need
a "grace period" after the nominal recertificatiomn date during which re-
    certification may still take place.

The Certification Policy states that recertification must take place before
the third anniversary of certification, but this is felt by some ACPs to be
impractical. The program should allow recertification to take place up to 3
months after the nominal date instead of requiring a full package and full
certification if the date is missed

Impact on direct re-certification needs to be considered

Review Conclusion The SA concluded that if recertification does not happen by the due date,
then the individual will cease to be certified, but at any time in the
following 12 months they may recertify and their ITAC certification will be
    re-instated.

The next recertification will be due on the third anniversary of the original
recertification date, i.e. this is not a means to extend the period of
    certificaion.
